Welcome!
A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into the refurbishing the old “Bartonville State Bank.” With the help of a couple hardy coworkers, we started the project. Many long hours and days doing a lot of hands-on work.
The removal of the cake oven was quite cumbersome. The oven could bake 25 cakes at a time on its rotisserie. It was enormous, made of heavy steel and lots of insulation. Sort of a messy ordeal. It had to be disassembled by hand, then hauled away. Yes- many dump truck loads to the salvage yard. Well, at least we got some salvage cash to help with the cause!
Iron bars had to be cut away from the large exterior windows, with the help of a torch. Several new hard ceilings were constructed and covered with drywall and paint. The old drop ceilings did not justify this beautiful bank building. New walls had to be constructed, and hard wood floors laid. A large kitchen, dining room and master bathroom had to be designed and put into place.
With the help of exceptional local contractors and my small crew, the edifice came to fruition. It was a true labor of love.
Thank You,
Brian K. Ledbetter
